I just wanted to jump onto the blog to introduce my self... Hi I am Victoria and I own and design all the products for Ashes by Victoria and a little about us.
2023 is a new beginning for myself and my family with this new business and a move away from my past life. Here's a little background: I left a promising marketing career to follow my passion for training and competing dressage horses, and have done so for the past 10 years. I have been lucky to compete at National level and help hundreds of owners and horses achieve their goals. However, this job is very physical and after an injury I needed to find another source of income. I lost of my then top horse I decided to make a silver ring with her tail hair in after not finding a design I liked online (I had a little knowledge of working with metal and jewellery as a hobby). This was the start of my journey into memorial jewellery. Having that ring was so precious to have a little piece of her still with me, for the next 6 years I would handmake memorial jewellery in precious metal with horse hair for people all over the world.
My goldsmith skills have grown significantly since that first ring and with other major changes in my life I decided that training horses full time was not for me - although I still ride compete and teach, just in my spare time. I also continue to make horse hair memorial jewellery with my first brand Diva Tails Jewellery. Many of my customers and enquiries where asking if I could put ashes into jewellery which lead me to where I am today. I found myself intrigued with glass works (lamp work, blowing and fusing) so found myself learning this new skill and becoming obsessed with glass and precious metal; They are such tactile materials, with such strength and quality. Now I am 100% focused on designing and developing memorial jewellery to the highest standard to help people deal with their losses whether human or beloved animals.
Ashes by Victoria is a brand that I am very proud to put my name too. I believe that we not only create beautiful memorial jewellery, but we do so using the best materials and with heart. You will always have a friendly voice at the end of the phone or email, who knows your order personally and also understand the hurt you are feeling too.
So, I hope that you will love the designs as much as I love making them. I also hope that although you maybe finding this site in a time where you are feeling sorrow, that you will also find a path to remember and love the memory of those that have departed.
